Bratastick
Really need to do this fix: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122888-tech-tip-ea81-4-speed-sloppy-shifter-bushing-fix/ Damn Photobucket pics are missing. I hate Photobucket!
987687
Sometimes you can right click on the image and select "open in new tab" or whatever your browser calls it. Sometimes photobucket will show you the image, sometimes it's the same stupid WE'RE DAFT DICKHEADS WHO ARE BAD AT BUSINESS (or whatever it says) image. It seems the case for that thread you can right click the image to open in new tab and view them. Cumbersome, yes, but you can still see them. Bratastick
doesn't work for me, I get the same stupid placeholder image.
987687
That's weird, it works for me. Anyway, since I'm disabled from a car crash and bored, I made the pics into an imgur album. You can get them here: http://imgur.com/a/wN6xJ Sorry if i messed up the order... I think i hit all the pics, though. idosubaru
can someone post the pictures here and then a mod could just put a link to this thread in that one - or attach the pictures to that write up? maybe i'm wrong but i'm baffled why anyone thinks hosting 3rd party is better than just attaching the image locally particularly with a write up. Bratastick
I ended up doing the taping the shaft maneuver instead of replacing the bushings. Has tightened it up. The lower bushing is still there but seems a little sloppy. Seems like it should be nylon rather than rubber? After the 2 inch lift it really won't go into reverse if you're in 4wd low. Is that typical and other than shifting out of 4wd low is there a work around?
GeneralDisorder
.....is there a work around? 5 speed D/R. Get one while you can still find one. GD
Bratastick
Now that I have the threaded bolt through the shaft and shifter, and the minimal 2" lift, it won't go in reverse at all. The shifter butts right into the range lever. Is there a typical mod to either of the levers to correct the problem?
