justyfied
my ea82 3at has a trans quirk. i'm sure your thinking that it is the well documented governor, done that. when i bought it it came with a reconstructed title and i see that the computer is from another 92 that was a 5 speed. (writen in yellow paint pen on the underside of the unit like it came from a bone yard) it will not kick down from drive into 2 and also tries to over-rev 1 and then go dirrectly into drive. could this be due to the computer being from a standard? i would think that it would be from a vacuum problem. suggestions? thanks
WJM
Maybe 2nd gear is gone, and somehow the trans know that, and is smart enough to not go to it. I had a friend with a gen 2 integra, and it only had 1st and 3rd...it would not go into 2nd or 4th for any reason, even if you tried to make it go into those gears. justyfied
no, it does shift into second cold and it will while driving if you manually shift it into neutral and then pull it back down into 2 but will not kick down after slowing down. is the kickdown electronic or is it vacuum? GeneralDisorder
3AT's are vacuum actuated - no computer. Have you pulled the governor and inspected it? What makes you think this "can't" be the solution? Have you flushed it and filled with new fluid? Basically, if you have ruled out the fluid and the gov, and it still no worky - time for a 5 speed. Numbchux
sounds like it might be a vacuum leak , ours won't kickdown for that reason, but your problem is a bit more complicated so maybe not
