Help: Identify SPI throttle body

I need to identify the throttle body so that I can buy a replacement fuel injector.

 

I lost the pictures that I took and I'm 300 miles away from my car at the moment.

 

I think I have an EA82 SPI manifold and throttle body.  I could identify it if I could see it.

 

Can anyone point me to a photo gallery online, or provide a few pictures?  I can't find anything in a Google search (?!).

if its has a single port fuel injection it can only be the ea82 system all other roo motors ether had multi port injection or a carb the motor its on dosent mater if its a subaru system and spfi than it has to be from the ea82 and they all used the same injectors but unless there are pic its just a guess not real with out pics lol

I sort of agree with you.  If I were at an auto parts store, how would I tell them the model and year?  1989 GL?

Yep - identified as a Rochester TBI.  Seems to be from a GM truck.  I was able to locate a model number on it.

Also looks a lot like a single barrel GM TBI from a 2.5L 4 banger. Something from a 'bout 1988. Or 4 cyl Chevy S10 truck perhaps?

Not from an ordinary 88-91 Chevy truck as those would be 2 BBL TBI bodies for both 6 cyl & V8.

Rochester model # is on vertical surface next to throttle linkage on TBIs. GearheadEFI forum might be able to help.

Can't tell you much more than that.

Throttle position switch(TPS) looks to have been changed to a V6 or V8 one.

That black cube on top of the TBI to right of bore looks like a relay that isn't part of the the TBI. Like its just sitting there unmounted.

Right - its unclear whether it was from a Camaro, Cavalier, Celebrity or some other 2.0 - 2.5L Chevy engine.  Certainly from a 4 cylinder.

I have another post going for a related issue, and it would be helpful if any of you could weigh in.

The question is: why do you think the prior owner of this VW bus put a Chevy TBI300 SPFI onto a Subaru EA81?  
Specifically, is there some advantage to using this GM SPFI instead of the Subaru SPFI?  
Seems like a lot of extra work: EA82 manifold, TBI adapter plate, O2 sensor, Megasquirt ECU + harness, hours of custom A/F tuning, etc.

It was obviously successful, the guy logged a zillion miles on it in his journal... then sadly passed away so I only have his notes.

The Original Owner may not have know about the EA82 SPFI adaptation to the EA81, or couldn’t get the parts to do it. 

I’ve heard a similar thing over here in Oz - we didn’t get the SPFI. I’ve only heard about this, never seen it, apparently some fella(s) adapted a Holden Camira EFI system to the EA81 or EA82. It was most likely a TBI unit - I heard it was a common conversion for other 1.8L’ish 4 cylinder engines. I’ve thought about the same thing from the Nissan Navara 4 cylinder petrol engines for the EA81, maybe one day...

I guess the Original Owner was working with equipment they knew would work, or that they knew they could make it work - and they’ve obviously got it sorted. 

Since you have the mega squirt tune, it could be worth your while keeping the setup as is and just run it.
