1 Lucky Texan Posted August 24, 2017 Share Posted August 24, 2017 car details? is the car new to you or did this problem just begin? any wrecks or work done on the car recently? many folks have good luck doing 1-2-3 drain/fills on the automatics. Delayed engagement can sometimes be helped a lot with fluid change and a bottle of Trans-X. and it's the only fluid you check while idling. Subieguy165 Posted August 24, 2017 Author Share Posted August 24, 2017 Car has 280xxx miles on it and it just didn't engage fully one day and I touched the gas and then cluncked into reverse it's a 98 legacy ej22e and it new to me just started to do this after it cluncked in reverse and I've just made.sure from now on to wait till it makes a light click sound and then go Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
