wirelessenabled Posted September 8, 2017 Share Posted September 8, 2017 My brother has a 2011 Forester with the FB25 and the clutch is going out at about 105,000 miles. If you don't have an engine hoist or a come-along. Idk how you'd get the engine out. But, if that car has the engine motor mounts on the transmission. Yeah. Engine is probably easiest. I know the legacy's FB25 have the motor mounts on the transmission bell housing. idosubaru Posted September 8, 2017 Share Posted September 8, 2017 Pull engine. It's more straight forward and working under the car usually sucks. Pulling transmission is logistically easier, less stuff - no coolant to deal with, power steering, alternator...but kind of that is hard anyway.
