dp213
I just bought a very nice 99 outback mechanic special. The person lost all power at 60mph on the freeway. Some shop looked at it for probably a minute and told him timing probably went and bent valves and everything. I pulled the timing covers and found the toothed roller was in 2 pieces. Had spare parts laying around so I put on a new roller and reset the timing and the car started fine and sounds great. Ordered a new timing kit and will put it in on saturday and enjoy my new suby:-)

Rooster2
Nice catch.........I am always glad to hear a story like this. I drive a 99 Outback for the past 11 years now, and still like the car. Hope yours does well.
dp213
I'm really not going too get to enjo y it much. She doesnt know it yet, but I am going to give it to my woman and take her 98 gt wagon. She likes the heated seats and everything and it's much nicer than hers.
