ncbill Posted October 17, 2017 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Kid wants to learn to drive stick. And move from their long-in-the-tooth 1997 Legacy (200,000 city miles) to something newer. Would like to stick with a crossover or hatchback given the sports equipment they haul around. I'm assuming we're stuck with the base model on a manual lease? Anyone done the above recently? The clutch just won't last, and it's certainly more expensive (and more headache) to replace a clutch on a newer car. Find something 10-15 years old that already has some wear and tear on it then it's less pressure on the kid and less money for you. Then if they don't like it you've got a backup/winter/knock-around.
