punx2400
https://imgur.com/yB0PIjNhttps://imgur.com/SAr04hfOf all the tensioners I've seen either at the junk yard or shopping online, I've never seen one with this weird, downward 20 degree angle. It came from rockauto, as part of the contitech pro timing component kit for my 95 legacy. What the hell IS this thing?! You'd think at that angle, the ram would be pointing directly at the tensioner pulley's mounting bolt. And look how thick it is! That would put it out into the path of the belt!! idosubaru
What is that?! You’re a sleep walker and cut and welded that thing in the middle of the night. Those tabs aren’t offset, what are you going to do with that?
Fairtax4me
Obviously not a tensioner for a Subaru. What does the rest of the kit look like? What's the Part number on the box? Any part number on the tensioner or packaging for the tensioner? Also, those tensioners are fine to re-use anyway. Just take your time compressing them. 5 minutes is about right with an 8" c clamp. If yours is leaking or has failed for some other reason get one from a junkyard. Otherwise get an Aisin OE replacement. https://www.amazon.com/Aisin-TKF-003-Engine-Timing-Water/dp/B008EEYTQ0 Tensioner for a Volvo https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dac-85055?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-dayco&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwKqC7Zep1wIVjG5-Ch27bA1bEAkYByABEgLP0_D_BwE Better pics in that link Edited November 6, 2017 by Fairtax4me
GeneralDisorder
Something for a Toyota I would suspect. Packaged wrong. The contitech kits include Chinese parts - GMB, etc. Send the whole thing back. If you must get a kit, get the Aisin offering. GD
punx2400
Weird. Guess I'll use it as a paperweight. I ordered a new one anyway. And yeah, I would've just reused it but it is in fact leaking, and when I compressed it the time I reinstalled the belt after replacing the w/p, I did not compress it in 5 minutes. More like 30 seconds. Oops. I threw all the packaging and everything in recycling the day it arrived - idiot. I don't even have a printer anyway to print out the prepaid return shipping label. Lesson learned.
