Most exploded views will only help if you already have some idea of what you're looking at. Most Subaru parts will say Subaru on the part somewhere so if there are random parts in the back look for part number or some other identifier/name on the part. You could also upload a pic of any parts you're not sure of and a lot of us here can help identify them.

Google search for Subaru FSM will turn up service manual downloads but they're usually not well laid out.

Can also check opposedforces.com, and try looking through parts diagrams there.

On your imprezza ..It may be easier to source a used motor, at least a good short block...rather than splitting the case.

tom the nearest salvage engine is about fourhours away and 600 with a 180k on it i miss portland and seattle 250 with 80 k all day... Mo. is jus not the place for subies

Undoubtedly. The learning curve on a case split is much too high.

On various Subaru parts websites you can look up a part and it’ll show it in an exploded view diagram with associated other parts.

Look up the diff, driveshaft, cross memeber, suspension stuff and you’ll see the exploded views of all the parts.

Post pictures here and we can tell you.
