Greenthumb9666 Posted November 27, 2017 Share Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) ok yall im a noob here need some direction my searches are comming up with no help.... i bought a 98 outback that had a trannie issue it was left by the owner at the trannie shop after they came back with more issues then originally discusssed and quoted for repair... long story short iom disabled i have limited funds i have the car a new trannie already stuck but the shop where i bought it only had a huge box of hardware and pieces of the transmission in the rear of the car... i need a diagram like an exploded view of the cars assembly because i pulled the new trans. but theres parts in the back of this thing i cannot recollect were in my donor car period... not sure if it was a scrap collector for a while or what but i need to have this thing running and completley assembled ... any help is appreciaqted.. i also have a 93 imprezza L i would like same sort of info on it spun a rod bearing i think its been down three years 'i'm finally having time and help to fix both any direction would be appreciated... sorry fng i know rtfm but i dont got the manuals please help. i have to have car drivable this week thanks bill greenthumb9666@gmail is my email if sending this way would be easier / also is a spell check option available on thjis site i cant type well my hands dont werk right Edited November 27, 2017 by Greenthumb9666 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Most Subaru parts will say Subaru on the part somewhere so if there are random parts in the back look for part number or some other identifier/name on the part. You could also upload a pic of any parts you're not sure of and a lot of us here can help identify them. Google search for Subaru FSM will turn up service manual downloads but they're usually not well laid out. GD general i split lycomings and continentals for a while im not skeered itll b a fun project for the lady and i shes done full frame off on a monte 72 so im excited this ones a classic notwin Mo. and not like i cant do a jdm or somthin if we decide not to... but the time piddling will be well spent that means haulin my triple bay macesimiser out for a session im excited the idea of a shop is in the works as well.. Greenthumb9666 Posted December 14, 2017 Author Share Posted December 14, 2017 ok well banged my knee up i will get pics soon i still am not finding where the pieces should go... i need a few pics of the drive line and rear end i think i can match up the pieces from a pic but i dont even have any cars in the area to refrence.. i know the heat sheild and the drive line plates or skid plates i can figure their locations i removed them from donor car but theres holes at the rear diff around the bottom and on each side of the crossmember links headed to the rear whell hubs..... i may not even have these parts im jus confused i just havent been able to work on the car i am way behind schedule now with this bum knee but i have to get after it i guess undercarriage assembly or driveline assembly pics or jus a snap of someones suspension with related areas i tried the repair manual link but it didnt work im kinda stuck any direction thanks in advance i even went to oreiley auto parts and they dont even have an assembly type view... idosubaru Posted December 14, 2017 Share Posted December 14, 2017 On various Subaru parts websites you can look up a part and it’ll show it in an exploded view diagram with associated other parts. Look up the diff, driveshaft, cross memeber, suspension stuff and you’ll see the exploded views of all the parts. Post pictures here and we can tell you.
