steve56
Just picked up set of heads at machine shop.Been using them for years. Asked owner what they use to reseal the cam plates. To my surprise it was Clear Permatex Silicone RTV. Anyone use the Clear Permatex instead of instead of Fuji Bond, Ultra Grey ect. skishop69
No. Ultra Grey only unless you want to have leaks. Ultra Grey was designed for wet use with oil. All of the manufacturers use Ultra Grey, they just call it their own thing.
GeneralDisorder
We use Three Bond 1217H. It's the official current Subaru supercesion for all previous RTV's. It's a bit darker and maybe slightly more firm than Ultra Grey. It's also rated for ATF like the previous 1217B. I don't think Ultra Grey is the best choice for tranny pans.
