Jakethewhite
87 subaru gl 1.8 FI 4x4 wagon This is the exact same situation that was found on http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/118912-88-dl-starts-then-dies/ But was never solved. Same ecu codes: 6 repeated and that's it. It will start up and then immediately die. If I try to press on the gas then it dies quicker. Checked fuel pump and it is good. I checked it at the fuel connection and it spews out gas. This is the thing that looks like a carb but isn't because the car is fuel injection. DaveT
A pressure gauge would be more informative regarding the fuel pressure and supply rate. The cts can cause trouble with cold running, among other things.
Subasaurus
remove a spark plug and see if the spark is extremely weak when cranking, mine would stay running for about 10-15 seconds and then die, let the vehicle "cool down" even though nothing warmed up for a few minutes and it would restart and run for a few seconds, then die again, turned out to be the distributor, the square sensor that reads the disk spinning around, also known as an early crank sensor of sorts. hope this helps.
