Naked Buell
So hey guys, you helped me figure the two plugs off the tranny, reverse and neutral switch, and now maybe someone can help me identify which is which. Looking at the side of it, one is closer to the engine and one closer to the driveline. So does anyone know? I have found one pic in my manual that says one closest to engine is reverse? Is that right??? Thx guys
Gloyale
Yes the front one, a little lower than the other is reverse
Naked Buell
Okay, so I decided to do a continuity test with the tranny swithches and I am not getting nothing, in reverse or in neutral from either switch. I even have a extra 5 speed ej tranny out of a car and tested that, still nothing. Am I doing something wrong here?? How are the switches working if I can't get continuity?? Fairtax4me
What setting did you use on the meter? IIRC those switches are resistive and using the continuity setting may not show continuity due to the resistance of the switch.
Naked Buell
Maybe so. I was using a Fluke T5-1000 continuity ohm test. How should I test them?
Fairtax4me
Just dug a spare out of a parts box and tested it and these are actually NOT resistive switches. I'm thinking maybe it was Nissan that uses those, can't remember off hand. They should read close to 0 ohm when you push the plunger. Poor connection maybe or for some reason your meter just isn't reading properly.
Naked Buell
The neutral switch is the furthest back switch, while the reverse is towards the front, for any who don't know.
