MWLoyale
I went to bolt my exhaust up and discovered the remanned driver side head has the studs in the incorrect holes. Is there any way i can remove these and put them in the correct holes?
john in KY
Studs may line up if the head is used on the other side but no matter, they are just screwed in. Use ViceGrips to remove/replace.
MWLoyale
The studs are in the same spot on both heads so if I flipped them, I would still have the same problem. But as you said no matter. Would I just use a rag over the jaws to save the threads?
naru
No,tighten 2 nuts together and use the "bottom" (top in this case)one to turn the stud. Edited March 21, 2018 by naru
MWLoyale
Thanks naru, I had that idea and thought it would work but wanted other opinions. I got the studs out and I'm off to town to get some blue loctite
Numbchux
I don't know what you're working on.... But I think the EA82s have the air injection manifold between the head and the exhaust, which have mounts 90 degrees off. I remember a post where someone re-welded the flange onto the exhaust pipe 90 degrees off due to stripped holes in the head/air manifold.
DaveT
None of my ea82s had / have air induction.
