pitscars
Hi all - I have an 82 sportswagon - EA81 - sometimes - travelling along at say 100kph and I back off on the throttle just a bit - it is as though the motor suddenly makes 10 more horsepower for a few seconds - then back to normal - of course if you TRY and make it do it - it wont - then a few days later - ZOOM - I know the Hitachi carburettor has its mysteries - but this is weird !!! ??? Len Dawg
My ea82 seems to have always done something like that.. 3,000rpm 5th gear. Never a need to floor it ESPACIALLY going up hill.. always at 1/2 throttle lessen it up a smidge and it gets a stronger pull. I've checked anything with intake system connections no cracks no nothing... never ever even taken the throttle bore apart or off the intake.. been this way to over 10yrs.. Not really trting to jack your thread man.. but I'm feeling the way you do lol! Edited July 2, 2018 by Len Dawg

pitscars
Everything seems to be as it should - funny thing is - if you PUSH on the throttle at 100kph - not a lot happens
jono
Mixture must just be coming on to a power sweet spot. I get this if I have asked too much of too little fuel with my propane systems
