trapper jim
have an 04 outback with 140K miles. It has a pretty good rattle over rough roads and I was thinking about KYB shocks and one of those front suspension kits ya see for about $100 on amazon. inner & outer tie rods, maybe ball joints and a few other things. Any particular kits folk recommend? Any to stay away from? https://www.amazon.com/Steering-Suspension-Front-Subaru-Brand/dp/B0791JYVFS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534469530&sr=8-1&keywords=front+suspension+kit+for+04+outback thanks
montana tom
Moog ball joint, kyb struts , new top caps for the struts, leave the tie rods alone unless they are loose, for that matter same with the ball joint... if it ain't broke don't fix it.
1 Lucky Texan
check sway bar endlinks, they can rattle.Check rear bushings on lower control arms. second advice above, KYB struts, other stuff if inspection warrants. best DIY, remove strut assemblies, take them and new parts to a shop and pay them to move everything over. GeneralDisorder
You probably just need ball joints, sway bar links, and strut/strut tops. Maybe tie-rod and tie-rod ends and boots. Stick with KYB for struts, and any parts you can get that are "555" brand are going to be OEM and are strongly preferred. GD
