anders
Is this freeze plug failed? It sticks out 1 mm or so where the other ones are all flush. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fElMIn1Qjjj0RdcWLEam--MG3GlxJVae/view?usp=sharing There is also what looks like a lil freeze plug below the crankshaft in the bell housing, and that sticks out slightly too. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1py_-zoCi1mvQDcy3EgZAvTeISrcM2NzB/view?usp=sharing What if anything can I do about it? And anything else I should look out? I did a compression test with a cheap gauge before I pulled the engine and I remember thinking the numbers were ok, I don't have them right on hand though. It's an EA82. Thanks. I've gotten a lot of useful info off this board for this current project.
DaveT
That is not a freeze plug. It has a hex key recess in it. It is the access to the wrist pin on the cylinder adjacent. It opens to the crank case. The only freeze plugs are in the head, under the rocker covers.
