Subuhrue
1984 Subaru GL FWD EA81 I removed my catalytic converter and am in the process of trying to find headers with a catalytic converter that fit the EA81. Seems everyone is doing their own custom fabrication.
el_freddo
I’ve not ever heard of anyone replicating a factory Y pipe for the EA81 or EA82. If you require a new cat, it’s a custom job for the Y pipe - or delicately mod your existing Y pipe to use a single in/out cat converter. DaveT
As far as I know, I am the only one who has built a customer y pipe for an ea82. I never saw anything other than oem or aftermarket stock style parts, but most of those options are getting scarce. Not much bolt on performance related made for these cars specifically, since they are not in that sort of group.
GeneralDisorder
Steven at Inferno Fabrications can and has done lots of EA headers. Including EA82T. GD

Yea I am not looking for a performance increase although that is definitely a plus! Getting rid of my catalytic converters and have the motor running with no headers right now bahahaha, no starting it up at night or in the morning... 53 minutes ago, GeneralDisorder said: Steven at Inferno Fabrications can and has done lots of EA headers. GD Oh, I'd love to see their design! I've got a 304SS BoostedBalls one-off and a "rotated" TWE header/DP arrangement. Got any photos?
GeneralDisorder
Been a long time since we did that. I'll have to check. I believe he still has the jig for it. You would have to ask though. He has moved his shop since we did that one several years ago. The car had a broken up-pipe/header and they are NLA from Subaru. GD
DaveT
Yes running without a y pipe is noisy. Even with only a y pipe is noisy. I moved the catalytic back so it is not under the passenger side DOJ boot. Made all stainless, so I never need to buy or make another one. No more fighting with rusted bolts if the exhaust has to be moved for other work. The EA82s are not limited by the stock exhaust as far as power goes. Only a tiny change at best. bratman2
Are you looking for a "Y" pipe are headers. Magnaflow makes a catted "Y" pipe.
