jonathan909
I'd like to have a list of available sizes, but it's surprisingly hard to find online. Best I can see so far is on autozone, but it's a bunch of gifs. Does anyone have it in some more friendly (and printable) form i.e. spreadsheet or pdf? 1 Lucky Texan
I can't help with your question directly but, depending on what you're doing....some folks just grind a shim down on the non-contact side.
GeneralDisorder
You don't grind the shim, you grind the tip of the valve.
Numbchux
The thicknesses are shown as a comment in the OE catalog. Although it looks like comments aren't displayed on parts.subaru.com But: http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/en_b11/type_14/engine/valve_mechanism/ Now, as I recall, many of the part numbers aren't available anymore, and supersede to the size above or below, so watch that (might be worth paying markup to order at a local dealer to verify that and be able to return if they muck it up). GeneralDisorder
Make sure you are 100% positive on the size you need. 10 out of 10 tech's at the dealer level according to my dealer parts guy get it wrong the first time, and most get it wrong the second time too. Math..... it's a problem. GD

idosubaru
On EZ30s I grind the back side of the shim which doesn’t contact the cam. I quit working on EJ25Ds since I started doing that - is there a reason that would be less effective on those than EZs?
