Ultimate Subaru Message Board

Want some opinion.

Recommended Posts

Hello, why is it that all new-comers to the board are always saying "hey i'm a noob, sorry for bothering you". Wasn't this board made for all skill levels noobs and experts alike. For the experts and knowledgable to educate everyone, to work problems out, to be a community of fellow subaru lovers? I was just losing sleep over that  Thanks.

Ah well im still a newb and i feel kinda dumb asking some questions. I think people say it just to let people know they are starting out and not to freak on em. Anyone whos been here even a couple days though figures out pretty quick that everyone here is really rad and they arent gonna be a-holes to you like some other message boards. (cough cough honda hahrmmmf) Any newbs reading this though remember that. Dont be afraid to ask any dumb questions... ive asked about a thousand and i dont think anyone here hates me to bad just yet. Better to learn the answer from a pro here then to try and BS it yourself.

Cheers:drunk:

Yeah, I guess it is the way that some people "open up" to the board and present themselves. No biggie. We love everyone here unless they screw us over. (Word spreads, trust me) Anyway, we are all here because we have something in common, we have/love Subarus. There are always gonna be the knowledgable types (usually the person who learns through trial and error), the types with lots of money to pay someone else, the type that asks alot of questions and is still lost, and the types that think they know it all and pass advice (good or bad). Doesn't matter, we have to have the diversity otherwise it just wouldn't work out right. All newbies and lurkers, Welcome to the USMB, The greatest message board ever! Don't be afraid to ask questions, ask for help, post an idea that you have whether you think it's stupid or not, or compliment someone's ride. There's an answer for everything. Just learn to be patient and remember: Honesty is the best policy. Boz

P.S. Everyone, this is a reminder to fill out your Bio

Noobs are fine - and I answer lots of well-spoken questions from noobs all the time. It's the ones that think we are mind readers that make me wonder:

"my car [note that poster makes no attempt to describe the model or year] makes this really strange click-rattle-splat sound every time I take a drink of my esspresso when the radio is tuned to KXL and I apply the brakes durring a left turn parking manuever. I think it may be associated with the wiring for my custom computer controlled boost inhibitor.... can anyone tell me what this is? I know some of you must have experienced this...."

And of course the kids who's parents bought them an older soob, and who now want it to magically turn into a Ferrari - and at the press of a button turn into a rock crawler as well. News Flash! Not gonna happen with your budget kiddies.....

Hehe - it's fun to wisecrack at them sometimes. I'm guilty of it. But if it's a legitimate question, or someone that really needs help I won't disrespect them out of hand. I'm here because I learn from this place, and enjoy contributing what I have learned from others on the board, and from my own research and experience.

And it is people like you... mr. GD... that keep the legacy of old subarus around. I sure as hell know that i wouldnt have ever been inspired to buy an old soob if i hadnt stumble upon this board looking for new STI's. If there was no one around to teach me what im gonna need to know then there is no reason for me to buy one and try to mess around with it.

I'm guilty of asking a lot of questions and still being lost. Or having my questions answered and then just inspiring more ideas/questions. Man I love this board.

Off the subject(maybe not) does the USMB have any official stickers/ gear to show off the awesomeness of this community?
