steve56
Bought 2001 Legacy with external head gasket leak. Just got anti freeze in the oil. I thought the 2001's didn't have the have the internal leak problem. Whats the best procedure for doing the head gaskets now that the antifreeze had mixed with the oil. montana tom
If it mixed bad enough, then there is most likely bearing damage. Otherwise, if you think its ok , flush it out , then use #642 Subaru head gaskets . Myself , I would search out a replacement motor.
el_freddo
Any engine can get an internal coolant leak from a blown head gasket - that’s exactly what a blown HG is all about. Cheers Bennie
GeneralDisorder
They didn't fix the coolant leaks till 2002. 99 to 01 models leak coolant and oil. Replace the head gaskets. GD
