Scoby4wd
Hi All, When I first got my Brat, I noticed if it sat for a while it would take a bit of time to start. Basically it would just crank and would generally take 30 seconds for fuel to make it to the carb and startup. After initial start, future starts would be quick while using it until it sat a while. However this past weekend even if it only sat for a few minutes, it would take a while cranking and I would generally have to floor it to get it to start. Once started it runs very well. Running a stock Hitachi carb Any suggestions? Bad fuel pump or something else? Thanks
DaveT
Check the choke and float levels. Having to hold it floored is a sign it might have flooded.
naru2
Its flooding because the float valve leaks slightly. Check the fuel level in the sight glass. It will be near the middle where it should be initially, but will rise after sitting.
