Eeman1273
Hello everyone I'm new here and I have a question regarding a 2003 legacy 2.5 sohc w/automatic trans. Car has 131,000 miles on it and just recently I replaced timing belt, water pump, head gaskets and tensioner and idlers. After startup the A/T temp light flashes non stop. Did the secret handshake and came up with 7 longer flashes and 9 quicker ones which you could say is either 79 or 16 which ever way you look at it. But it only flashes that way in that mode it stays flashing any other time. Car had no known issue until the engine was pulled to do the head gaskets. I just put a brand new from the dealer solenoid c in or tranfer duty solenoid whichever you want to call it. And the light is still flashing. I need help please any info would be great. I have checked and cleaned the grounds I can see.
wtdash
See this: https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/transmission-code-79.44361/ Did you by chance lift the trans when messing w/the engine? I did that (only once) and it bent the pan and damaged internal wiring .
FerGloyale
If engine removed, was the torque converter properly seated before reinstall?
