Jibs
Would it be possible to fit a baja engine into a Brat? Pros and cons? Just wondering. Also, if you had a lifted Sube, would it be possible to run 20 inch rims with the low profile racing tires? I get a visual everytime I think of it, and was wondering. Thanks a lot. GeneralDisorder
There is nothing different about a Baja compared to any other EJ engined Subaru, and yes - EJ engines have been put into Brats. Do some searches and you will find something I wager. As for Low Pro's on 20 inch rims - Sure - go with the 6 lug conversion, and swap anthing on that will fit a chevy or toyota...... don't run into me tho, cause I'll slap you. subieman
Yes Jibs a EJ series motor will fit into a Brat. I almost did a EJ motor swap into my Hatchback. But lack of funds and time I stopped the project. If you decide to go ahead with the swap, make sure you have a whole donor Legacy. Along with the motor you need the wiring harness and if your not going to adapt a ea series tranny to it you will need the whole drive train out of your donor car. Let me know if you really wanna do this. I have a wiring diagram for 90-94 Legacys. Very detailed. I ordered it off a VW site. Here is a pic I found of a EJ22 in a Brat. Jibs
Thanks, I didn't know what series engine was in a baja, and I did a search for "baja engine", but not too much came up. Jeremy - was it hard to swap everything in cause it seemed tough to get all the wiring done. If it's not too bad, I might seriously have to consider it cause that Brat I am getting needs a new engine. Did you do the work yourself? GD - It would look totally funny if I rolled around on 20's! Maybe I've created a monster, as I have already started on the 6 lug conversion, I might give it a try sometime. Thanks again!
subynut
I donno.....20s on a brat? They look funny on a avalanche. Stick with 16 or 17s. just my 2 cents.
archemitis
20s look dumb on big old muscle cars, youd be smokin crack to go with anything bigger than 17s on a subaru, yo. and theres the matter of your rims costing more than the whole car! and the subaru parked next to it, combined
