Hellzbellz1234
I just bought this 97 OBS from some random and i threw a new battery in it and it runs and drives. kinda. So it has an aftermarket Autopage RF-350 system that got installed however it seems it was wired into the wiper system. Whenever i cycle the door locks the wipers move. this always happens no matter the wiper settings. After tons of googling and ripping out the aftermarket alarm ive discoverd that its a short somewhere in the cabin. its probably near the fusebox but im not sure ill upload some pictures in the morning Edited September 9, 2019 by Hellzbellz1234

lmdew
Get it as close to stock wiring as you can. I hate the aftermarket systems. Hit the yard if necessary.

Hellzbellz1234
found the short and fixed it a 3 days ago. coulda saved myself lots of trouble by unplugging the hatch. it was a botched repair of the hatch harness. i bought new wire and cut all the joints out back near the top of the hatch and replaced them with about 5 feet of new wire the repair seems to be working fine and my car hasnt burnt to the ground. the airbag light came on and i missed 1 bolt. and a few trim pieces . im pretty pleased with the result but if anyone knows where the 2 grounds behind the radio go i would appreciate the help .
