TooFar Posted September 11, 2019 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Hello all, I'm a new to owning my already beloved Legacy postal wagon. I picked it up on the cheap because it needs a new transmission but I've been having some trouble finding one. I'm looking at a site called reman-transmission dot com and the only thing they have for the 1999 models is for a forester with a 2.5. My legacy has a 2.2. From what I've been lead to believe this forester transmission should work in my legacy but I'm hoping one of you gentleman can help me with this conundrum. Posted August 23 I also use this web site https://www.hollanderparts.com/ to find parts. Look up your vehicle then enter your zip code to sort closest to you. transmission - transaxle. Get the number on the sticker located on the bell housing above the starter or from the plate on the strut tower and using the chart in the attachment you can identify your transmission and a replacement.
