sirtokesalot
i have a 2001 outback it was a base model and has none of the plugs for stuff like heated seats heated mirrors rear/front tweeters. i know these plugs are located on the main body harness tail gate harness and both front door harnesses. my question here is if i were to swap these harnesses into my car from a doner 2002 outback limited would those options then work or is the dash wiring where it plugs in also different? lmdew
On the dash wiring that I've pulled from older Subaru the dash has all of the extra plugs for the option switches. You could check behind the switch blank offs to see if the plugs for the options are there.
idosubaru
Like he suggested, I’d expect that year/car to plug and play but I’m not sure. If you already have them both you could check the wiring harness differences. You can access those with the door open by popping the flexible conduit out between the door and body. Pull the wiring until you get to the connector and see where the differences are. Might not require any tools to check but a screwdriver to pry the conduit.
