JimmyJazz
Hi everyone I am Jim, new to this forum. I own a 2016 Outback and love it. Now I am thinking about buying a 2nd Subaru. Maybe an older Outback for driving back and forth from work.
el_freddo
Welcome to the forum JJ. The outback is a solid platform like the other Subaru models. You should get the older one for off-roading Cheers Bennie

StevenC
I’m looking at buying a 2016 Outback. 2.5. My concern is the 142k miles on it. It’s history shows regular service but that’s a lot of miles. Any specifics I might want to be concerned about? Clean. No leakage. Sales guy said this car has a timing chain vs belt. Pro’s / Cons on that? (price of 9950.00). My current 99 Outback has gone through one head gasket and timing belt and is now leaking again. Input?
JimmyJazz
I am not so sure that I would be too scared about it. I buy cars to drive and if they break you fix them and keep on going. But that is just me. I think it is just like buying any used car you could buy it and drive it to 220,000 miles and never have a problem.
