Rust problems, do you need panels

Recommended Posts

Been going through the forum and seeing alot of rust problems. It just might be conceivable to import parts from my home New Zealand.Subarus are very popular over here and there are plently sitting in wreckers yards.Fibreglass panels for series one brats were available and after market panels for series two brats including doors ,bonets(hoods). You maybe surprised how cheap it could be and what you can find over here.

If it is possible to get a good shipping rate to the US then I am game.
I am sure if you managed to get a group together you could import a couple of containers full of parts and panels ,use what you want and sell the rest. You can by a NZ dollar for 65cents US.About six months ago it was 45cents US.Contact a local importer from your end for shipping costs if you are serious, let me know what you are going to do and I will source the parts required from here.

Hey Kevin:

Do you happen to know if rear quarters for the EA82 series wagons were ever reproduced over there?

I have not been able to find an aftermarket source for RQ's anywhere. They are one of the weak spots on those cars, and can be tricky to fabricate.

thanks, John

The answer is not that I have heard.Your best bet is to find one that may be damaged but not at the rear end and cut the portion out that you need and replace in the rusted area in your wagon. Its not as hard as it sounds it can be done and after painting you would never know that a repair had been done.Sorry I couldnt be more help but there are hundreds of that model in wreckers yards over here. But I have just had a thought and I will contact a japanese car parts importer on monday(sunday US)and just see what I can do and it might be possible if the parts are available to send them direct to the US.
