jeryst
1998 Legacy Outback wagon. 2.5 AT There is a hose on the driver's side of the engine that goes to the heater core on the firewall. The beginning portion is metal and then a rubber piece is attached. On my car, the metal part is leaking and I need to find a replacement. Does anyone know the official name for the metal part of this hose so that I can try to find one online?

FranklinHalfAddict
@jeryst with my extremely limited car knowledge I can’t help you. Do you know what type of fluid it’s leaking? Is it coolant? A picture of the tube would help others give you an answer.
lmdew
Quote Engine Coolant Bypass Pipe So you are most likely seeing a coolant leak. To replace this, the Intake has to come off. I'd pull the hose, check the pipe, hose and clamp. You may be able to clean up the pipe and make sure the hose and clamp are good. Replace as necessary to fix the leak. The small hose going to the throttle body also sometimes leaks and will pool on top of the engine. Edited May 24, 2020 by lmdew
