lmdew
Looking for a friend who has a 2007 Subaru that need rear wheel bearings, I came across the replaceable unit, 2010+ Is it possible to get a newer unit and retro fit it to an earlier Subaru? If you went to the yard and pulled a 2010+ rear hub, could it be bolted in to an earlier Subaru? Thanks, Larry
GeneralDisorder
Depends. 2005+ Legacy rear bearings are bolt-in. Impreza did not get any bolt-in bearings front or rear till 2008. I couldn't tell you what will interchange without model information and in any case it's easy to lookup the parts on parts.subaru.com and check the interchange. Rear bearings went to bolt in hub assemblies when the rear suspension went to multi-link, so the knuckles are completely different. So, ASSuming this 2007 Subaru is Impreza based, you get press in bearings.
