idosubaru
What am I looking at to lower my XT6 front 1”? It is lifted too much for the front axles - lets call it 3”. support engine, lower crossmember, remove crossmember bolts, and install blocks between cross member and body? do I also have to drop the trans mount? Can the pitch stopper and steering shaft, handle a 1” drop? I’m going to lower the lift or drop the front if it’s not too much effort. I assume I have to lower the lift but if I can get an easy 1” drop I’ll do it. Edited November 16, 2020 by idosubaru
el_freddo
The steering knuckle won’t like any drop in the engine crossmember. You’ll need a custom unit to allow for the engine crossmember drop. Pitch stopper rod might be ok. For a one inch drop of the engine crossmember the trans mounts will be fine. I have a three inch lift kit with only a two inch setup on the gearbox crossmember. Been like this for ten years no problems.
