terryb52
I currently have 205/60/15 on my '92 Legacy wagon. I went to one tire place and they said I should revert back to 195. What do you think? What is the reason for either size?
northguy
The tire place, I'm sure, is going by what the book says since there have been places sued by litigous ***holes for putting on different sized tires than the specs call for after the *** holes got in a wreck. As long as all four tires are the same (and not too radically different so as to make the center of gravity way different) it should be fine. Setright
195/60R15 gives more predictable handling. 205 looks better, but since it's still 60 profile, you'll get more squashy steering, and more sudden break-away.
Warp3
If you don't mind the speedo/odo error (with the larger tires, your speedo reads slower than you are actually going by a small amount) and you aren't getting any tire rub from the extra width and height...then you are fine. As for the speedo error...you aren't too far off anyway, with your current difference from stock, when your speedo reads 60mph, you are actually going 61.2mph.
