Subgirl76
I have a 98 subaru legacy b4. She has a ej208 engine. We just put a new ej20 block in her and we only have spark on cylinder 1. We have power to the other 3 coils but no spark. Any ideas?
Subgirl76
And thank you for adding me. Not sure if its the right spot. But we have been stuck on this issue for days really could use some advice
1 Lucky Texan
Others here will respond I'm sure, I'm just wondering if this could be an issue with using the correct crank sprocket. It may matter to the ECU how many 'tabs' are on the sprocket for the CPS to detect.

Subgirl76
So I replaced the crank gear as you were correct it was different. But it won't start. Do you think the cam gear would be affecting it as well? Or might there be something else?
1 Lucky Texan
yeah, the ECU in the car needs w'ever crank/cam signals it is expecting so, possible cam gear differences too.

Subgirl76
One other question, the cam and crank sensors are not interchangeable with each other are they? The boyfriend was testing them and not sure if he mixed them up putting them back on. Lol very frustrating situation
1 Lucky Texan
I'm no expert but, if they appear to have the same numbers printed on them, they may be functionally the same. I guess try them both ways?

el_freddo
@1 Lucky Texan - bang on the money mate! Rule #1 with Subaru engine block changes: always retain the original crank and LHS cam sprockets for this exact reason. Glad to read it worked out easy in the end, and I’m sure you are too @Subgirl76 Cheers Bennie
