nevinnh
2008 Legacy, 2.5L. I have a stubborn oil leak that I believe was caused by the oil pump seal against the block. So, as I was removing the pump I screwed up and popped off a tooth on the crank pulley (see the picture). Are the teeth used by a sensor? So, do I need a new crank pully? Thanks. GeneralDisorder
Yes you need a new crank sprocket. GD
Rampage
Those two holes are there for you to tap threads into them and use a puller to remove the sprocket.
montana tom
Under normal conditions that sprocket should slide off without a puller. As you already broke a tooth just use a screwdriver to move it off the crankshaft.
Numbchux
Yep, that's the tone wheel for the crank angle sensor. It's junk now.
1 Lucky Texan
WAIT! - there MIGHT be a way to knock some more teeth off, then use it on a 90s car! LOL!
