Dirt4d2
Sadly, she's gone. My pristine and extremely well maintained '07 OBS with a manual transmission, KING springs with a 1-1 1/2" lift and new struts all around, prime Continental rubber at all 4 corners as well, has been relegated to the insurance graveyard. High winds back in November brought a tree branch down on top of it. In reality, once the vehicle was washed, the damage was very minimal and almost unobservable. As much as I loved my OBS with a deep passion, I sadly decided to take what the insurance company offered me as it was more than twice what I could've sold it for on the open market, even in its pristine condition with very low miles. The process of re-registering it and going through the strict California vehicle inspection process, and taking into consideration that even though a perfect vehicle, it would forever be designated as a salvaged vehicle, I decided to take the insurance company's offer at 2X the value. (I seriously think that they messed up on that one.) I am now driving a boring 2011 RAV4 4WD that has absolutely NO character at all and I am doing everything that I can to try to bring a more manly and butch presence to the vehicle. I will be leaving the Subaru forums and pages with sad and lowered eyes. Take care all and stay healthy. I miss my dear friend badly. (You can barely see my cleverly mounted yellow lens WARN remote fog lights behind the HAWKEYE center grill pieces. I was very proud of that successful endeavour. idosubaru
Too bad. On the bright side the RAV 4s are longevity monsters with few issues. They’re a solid vehicle in that regard.
