swf
The left side speakers both work fine and there is no output from the passenger side speakers, both front and rear. I have the panel off under the glove compartment. It looks like most of the wires going to the door go thru a white connector and a pink connector. The pink has a blue and a white wire. The white has a blue, white, blue/white and yellow wire. Are any of these the front speaker wires? With voltmeter what should be the reading on each wire from the radio at the connector? Also, what color are the wires to the rear speaker and what is the routing? My Chilton's doesn't show any wiring. Thanks
Caboobaroo
find the ground. the speakers have a shared ground on either side so if the ground goes on the passenger side, then you'll have no sound coming form them at all. The other thing to check is the connector on the back of the stereo. If its the stock stereo, sometimes the connector will come loose just enough that one side won't work but I found if I smack it, it'll start to work again. I had the same problem with the stereo in the 86 turbosedan I was driving.
WoodsWagon
under the kickpanel on the pass side, there is a pinky connector (2pin) that has 2 blue wires going in to one pin and only one on the other end of the pin. I bet this connector popped.
swf
Thanks, I disconnected pink. Hooked up a boom box and the front played. So problem has to be before connector or in radio. Your colors are right. Pink connector is front speakers and 2 blue/blacks come in and leave as blue. The other i believe is white. Do you know color of connector and location for rear speakers. I took glove box out and found brownish just like pink but it goes to glovebox light. Any ideas would help. under the kickpanel on the pass side, there is a pinky connector (2pin) that has 2 blue wires going in to one pin and only one on the other end of the pin.
