Skyman44
Hello, I'm Skyler! I'm new to doing major work on Subarus but have always loved them ever since I was a kid riding in my dad's 2.5rs. I now own my own 2002 WRX and about 2 months ago have started to undergo the project of doing an engine swap. I bought a jdm ej205 and have been slowly but surely doing the work on removing my old engine, and prepping the new one with new seals, gaskets and proper usdm parts Frankensteined on it. Ive been learning most of what I know from either YouTube, my dad or fellow Subaru enthusiasts. It's been really rough in the Beginning but im determined to learn the anatomy of my car and how to take care of it! If anyone has any beginner tips or welcomes they'd be appreciated. idosubaru
Avoid rust. Use 6 pt wrenches and socket not 12. Use the right tool for the job. Follow the FSM and ask supporting questions to what you see there. They’re available free online for older models.
