Del Gue
My 83' wagon has 209,000 miles. It's real bouncy in the front. I replaced the struts just more than a year ago, but it is still bouncy. Should I replace the springs too, and where would I get new ones. I checked with Autozone and Pep boys with no luck. thanks for the help.
MorganM
Ya they could be worn out after 200k miles! LOL Find some springs off a car thats only 50k-100k miles on the body. They wont be like new but they should be better than the ones you got! Might even get lucky and find someone who replaced them once before. Don't think youd have to ship them as an 'oversized' package or anything. Del Gue: hit up UPS or USPS websites and you can do an estimate right on their site. MilesFox
being coils they will pack in together, within eachother, and take up the space of one coil. i'll ask the post office today. if the money order is from the post office, postage can be paid when its cashed, one transaction. i'll see what the rates are. a timing belt cover cost me 5 bucks to send out, i dont know if it goes by weight or the size of the box. edrach
Just another thought. I would think that a bouncy front end is more a sign of weak shocks than springs.
GeneralDisorder
^ what he said. Bounce has nothing to do with the springs - actually it does - it means they are good. That's what springs do BTW - they bounce. GD

Sweet82
Just because the struts are new does not mean they can't be messed up. How high is it sitting? Is the front end saging? My bet is the springs are good. My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, still has original struts. 01 Forester, of course it still has original struts.
