Subi Drew
I want to know if I can put 15" tires on my 95 legacy. It runs 14" as stock. Is there any issues? Thank you

Thank you I went from 14" to 16" on my '95. I lifted it too; but I also went with bigger tires. Properly sized 15" tires should fit fine with the right 15" wheels, they just need to have the right backspacing/offset and lug pattern, etc. It's probably easiest for fitment if you use 15" Subaru wheels from another 90's subaru or early 2000s.
lmdew
No problems. I find them cheap on the craigslist. $100 for a set of 4 rims and tires. I have plenty of chrome acorn lug nuts if you need a set.
heartless
what the guys are not saying is that the tire needs to be sized properly so it does not rub on the spring perch of the stock strut - that spring perch is your limiting factor. (laegion did kind of mention this) yes, you can put a bigger wheel on, as long as the tires are sized to clear. Alternatively, you can easily put early Forester struts on which will slightly increase the spring perch clearance area allowing for a larger tire. This is what I did on my 95 Legacy...and I loved it! Edited February 6, 2022 by heartless
forester2002s
A side effect is the your speedo will no longer read the correct speed. Larger tires will cause a lower speedo reading.
1 Lucky Texan
some on-line retailers like Discount Tire, or Tire Rack have 'calculators' that will tell you how to size-up, and what tires will keep the speedo accurate.

moosens
Like those folks just said there’s a match for diameter which I think was 74” Check the chart or call your local tire place. Damned if I can recall and in fact I have them at home so I will try to remember to check for you. We are using those same 95-99 Legacy 15” wheels on our 94 Legacy
moosens
Ok I have a picture on my phone and it’s 195/60 R15 to match the factory 14” tire size. Enjoy !

Suzam
I put stock 2002 WRX wheels and tires on my 95 Legacy no problem. Moved them over to a 98 Legacy Wagon a few years later.
