bofus86
08 forester with p0026 error code. replaced ocv and solenoid. also cleaned the filter screen inside the housing those sensors reside in and made sure it was aligned properly. after new oil and filter i still get the same error code. not sure what the next step would be. i am wondering if genuine subaru ocv and solenoid would make a difference? lmdew
Did you check the solenoid operation jumping the pins to power and ground? How's the harness look?

idosubaru
Check wiring for rodent or prior engine work damage - just the exposed, easily visible wiring, that's what they'd typically find first as well. Follow the wire back from the solenoid as far as you can. Are you sure you're addressing the correct side, there's two right? Make sure you're looking at the right one. lmdew
You can just jump the pins to Power and ground. If you have an old Subaru connector you can pull the sockets out of that is idea. Should click when powered.
