JesusLady
Gentlemen: My '96 Imprezza ran like a champ despite 500,000K on the odometer...then the timing belt came apart while I was driving; "Whizzz..." was the sound I heard when it did. SOHC non-interference EJ22 engine. A new timing belt (and water pump) was installed three separate times; each time, the engine starts and runs...but once the radiator is connected and everything is in place, the engine turns but won't start. About to buy a new engine, but don't even know where to shop around for one. I feel in my gut something's being overlooked. What could it be? Please help -- I'm in North Central Florida and trying to get it operational before our nation collapses. Thank you and God bless.
lmdew
So when it starts and runs, how long are you running it? I take it very short since there is no coolant as the radiator is out? Radiator in, filled with coolant, and no start, is that the case? www.car-part.com will let you search for an engine. If it was running well before the belt broke, I would not give up on the engine yet. What caused the belt to break?
