subyrally
i dont know what i did, but the rx wont start, i think it might be the fuel pump, but i am not sure. the only thing ive done since the last tie it was run was turningit around in the driveway, and fix the hood release. now the car wont start, it cranks and all the accesories and lights work. there arent any dead fuses that i could see.i did notice that with the ignition in the "on" setting, i didnt hear the pump run when i pressed the pedal, at least i think the rx fuel pump used to make a noise when i did that, my impreza does. anyone ever have this happen?? i need to fix this so that i can drive the car when i get it registered. (im hoping tomarrow). i need sugestions on what it may be and possible fixes. gy the way, i just put fresh gas into the car. thanks
myossfeece
there should be a set of green test clips under the hood, near the wiper motor I think. N E Ways if you plug those in it should cycle the fuel pump off and on and you can listen to it or have another person turn the key on and off while you lay down at the pass. side and touch the pump. If it's working you should feel it vibrate. If you can't find a second person then unhook the fuel line at the big round filter under the hood and then get back in the car and turn the key on and off, if it is working it should launch a stream of fuel to the bumper and sometime farther than that. my 91 loy-a did the same thing and left me stranded. I called for help and wiggled the connector on the fuel pump and then I started right up and I haven't had any trouble since. hope this helps

subyrally
i did some tests and have come to the conclusion that the pump is dead. im thinking if it isnt the pump, it may be something under the dash. i hope its just the pump.
WJM
Check the connection at the fuel pump. my GL-10 did this a few times until I fixed the connector.
subyrally
good news, the pump works, its an electrical problem in the wiring. i know the ground is meesed up, but i think that there is something under the dash as well.

subyrally
well, i have replaced the coil, wires, and even the ecu, the car still will not start. im running out or ideas. i havent found any broken wires or obvious shorts in the system. i am rather lost on this problem. im about ready to just gut the car and rewire the whole thing, not that i really want to go through that again. i really need help with this.
