JiggsCasey
Hi all - I've been searching for the connectors/wires leading to the rear window defrost for my 86 GL10 3-door. More than anything, I'd love to know *what these parts are named* so I can search more effectively (or request from pick & pull sanely). This is not the defrost stripes that go across the back, nor the connection pieces on the sides. It's the wiring line that comes off that to receive power. There should be one connecting wire from the defrost clips that ends in a male/female plug (switch? relay?) and then the connecting male/female end that connects to it. I think that resides either under the rear trim panel or the panel area around the passenger side tail light. Sorry for being vague - I had removed the piece as the male/female connector was corroded and no longer sent power to the defrost. Then before I could start searching some idiot stole the car and emptied everything out of the back (except their drug paraphernalia, thanks!). It's been a nightmare trying to explain this, I keep getting directed to switches in the instrument panel or elsewhere. If anyone else has one of these cars, would you mind taking a picture and posting it? having a pic would be a godsend for searching. And I'd love to be able to see out the back window this winter :D. carfreak85
I think you're just looking for the electrical connector that plugs in to the male tang of the defrost strip on the window, correct? It's just a female spade connector, you could even use a generic off the shelf part. You could call iWire and ask if they have it, or search their website. I can send you a photo of it if you send me your email, but it looks like a pretty generic connector.
