GeneralDisorder
E-10 torx. Must be 1/4" drive. You can get it from Snap-On, Matco, etc. GD
myossfeece
yeah That was wha I needed to know. I have a 3.7lsd and a 3.9 rear end, both with a broken axle stub. I am hoping to part them both and come up with a 3.9lsd with two good axle stubs on it. thanks gd
baccaruda
get the 1/4" drive version if possible as it's a pretty tight fit in the axle stub.

MilesFox
thanx q. we found the article in the usrm, but the computer wont print! anyway we read that you will need to use 3.7 axle shafts to match the ring gear. we have the lsd and the 3.9, both with one torched stub each. but we DO have an open 3.7 that we can use for the axle shafts, a matching pair
Qman
Stub axle shafts do not matter in the rear diff. They are all the same. All you need to do is remove the center section from the housing. Keeping the components from the 3.90 gear together. Grind the housing like the LSD housing. You see the difference once the cover is off. Change the ring gear to the LSD and reinstall in the 3.90 case. Done!
