TROGDOR!
Yep, I found myself another vehicle to drive now that my wagon is gone. It's an 89 Nissan Hardbody pickup, 4x4, 3.0 V6, 101k miles. It's in the yard here at work, it was hit very lightly on the bedside. Just needs the bed banged out and the axle shaft on that side replaced. The boss is letting me have it for $1300, and I figure it'll take another $250 to get it on the road. I've heard these trucks are indestructible and run forever, and that they're great off road. Anyone ever own one? Now that I have a dog, and am getting a Nissan truck, the first thing to come to mind is that old Nissan commercial advertising the pickup, where at the end the Japanese Nissan spokesman (I forget his name) says "DOGS LUV TRUCKS!" No I'm not abandoning Subaru, I still have my XT that I'm going to fix one of these days. Hardbodies, very sexy...

gbrand
I've had 2 Nissan 4x4 King cab trucks. Both very reliable, rugged vehicles. First was 83, Z2.2 engine. Got creamed by soccer Mom while parked in front of my house at 215K. Replaced it with a 97, K2.4 engine, very good truck. I am a memebr of the BBS http://www.nissanfrontier.net/ , there are forums for all the different nissan truck families including the "Hardbody hangout". Number of posts not nearly what we get here on USMB, but still a good place for info. Good luck on the truck!

DerFahrer
Nissan trucks rule. My granpa had an 85 Nissan p'up, stripped with no a/c, no radio, 5spd of course... Not only was that thing tough as nails (he actually managed to carry 25 80-lb bags of concrete in it [that's 1 TON), that thing would skat! It was the twin-spark engine, that's all I remember of it. It was stolen in 97 or 98, I think... Then just this past weekend, I helped tow an Audi Quattro that was demolished by a tree from Hurricane Charley, and we towed it on a heavy-duty trailer with a 95 Nissan p'up 4cyl. Aside from being a little sluggish, the truck had no problem at all.
