girls, gambling, and debt...ah, vegas

Recommended Posts

Just looking thru the member names i realize that there is no one down in my area, and therefore i am lacking the subaru experience i would be having should i have been located in the northwest where i used to live. anyone wanna move? no rust here, no bugs, no pine needles, and..um...no rain? dunno if that last one's a real plus, since 4wd takes care of any worries about that. but when it does rain we get floods all over the streets, and a lot of you all like to use your subarus as boats, so come on down! alright, fine, stay up there. deserts are fun to off-road in, just in case someone wants to visit. next year a road trip to N.W.C. for me is in order, so ill make sure to find a time that a meet is going on. this post was actually quite pointless, but reply just to say im stupid anyways for kicks.

There is a handful of Subie Folks in Vegas, you just need to find them.

Take a long time and sort through the Members and you'll find there are more than you think....

Good Luck,

Realy not that hot here because we r at 3.500 feet mid summer 100 but mostly 90s winter is great allways above freezing!icon6.gif

Yeah I'm at 5200 feet where I live. The altitude makes a huge difference in the temp during the summer.

Yeah I visited Vegas last year, I'll never forget walking out on the strip at 1am and the temp was 97 degrees.. ahhhhhhh

alright, today was a cool 92 degrees! thats like ice compared to what it would normally be. my lucky day. fortunately it didnt get too much hotter as i was stuck on the strip today for about 1.5 hrs just trying to get back on the freeway. dang, freakin tourists cant drive without looking at EVERY Single casino! you wanna see it up close, go for a walk! dont park your car in the middle of the intersection to stare at the 1/3 size eiffel tower! ANYWAY...yeah, not the temperature for soobies. i reckon its the one thing they cant handle too well - heat, that is. which is why it is so hard to find anything good down here. The only ones are either '97 and up or in terrible condition. i cry every time i see a wagon that i could have treated like a queen all beat up and fried by the uv rays. Definitely not staying for UNLV, uh uh.

yeah I know what you mean about the traffic on the strip cause when we were down there in may it was the same but cooler and we walked at least 10 miles a day if not more cause we got sick and tired of trying to get a ride from my parents or my sister and/or her husband so the Wife and I just ventured out on our own alot for the week we were there

heh, rattlesnakes are the LEAST of your troubles in the desert... (ahem)

1. Scorpions - yeah, the venomous kind. the big fat black ones, too.

2. Black Widows - of course, every place has these. although not as abundant.

3. Vinegaroons - everything you eat for the rest of your life tastes like vinegar after you get to meet one of these fine specimens of spiders.

4. Brown Recluse Spider - more painful bite than the black widow, and more venomous. leaves a mark about 3" dia. for 3 months that starts to smell and makes the skin peel several layers off.

5. Rapists/murderers - theyre everywhere. my mom has to carry a blade when she goes running.

6. cockroaches - not as bad as chicago or new york, but definitely en masse.

7. cacti - (cactus plural) just dont walk around at night in the desert, the needles dont come out easy. and dont eat them... CT is a common disease here (CT being 'cactus tongue').

8. flash floods - too many cars get swept away in just MINUTES after a nice rain.

9. heat waves - in the desert the winds can get up to 135 degrees and can literally drain your energy where you stand. DRINK WATER!!! if you get stuck in the desert w/ a car, lay down underneath it and sleep. the more energy you burn the hotter it gets, and you, well, overheat. duh.

all these are silent, too. rattlesnakes at least give you a warning. whoo, makes you wanna come right on down, dont it?

My car would hate that... my carb is tuned for optimum performance at like 65-75 degrees (its stock settings, figured that out just by driving in different temps). It loves cloudy overcast portland days
