JonOfScio
I think you won some awards (as you should) because I went "hey, that legacy is awesome!" and then realized that the paint was so close to the gen I turbo legacy wagon paint scheme, and it was so modded out, I thought it was a legacy! it was sooo cool to see this car man. and the red taillights too. yeah, too bad it didn't run as well as we'd all hoped. but nonetheless, you got it there, it got some spotlight, and we're all happy. [HTi]Johnson
I also helped doing that swap (the little that I helped with). That block was resealed as much as possible. Unless he split it and completely did it over. But why? It'd be cheaper to get a crate motor. Brad was there almost the whole time, pretty much all his off time. Which is hard, he lives in Bend, car is in Eugene. Anyways, Brad good job, and great dedication. Most people would just ditch it by now. Let's get it done! WJM
Old engines can just be unpredictable at times - if you need a part or parts I'm sure we've collectively got enough laying around to get you up 100% again! Yeah, them turbos are tempermental. the engine we really professionally installed in pleiades' grassroots challenge RX....has all NEW OE SUBARU parts and freshly redone heads...Delta cams and all....its got a perminant miss on cyl #4 at idle all the way to 1500....!?!?!? This shortblock was the best looking and best runing one when it was pulled. Now...the engine in the turbo wagon...came out of that RX...looked TERRIBLE! heads that were on it was warped all to hell, poorly done headjob...overheated and ran with a block headgasket. When i put it in the wagon...i took shortcuts and used regular NAPA stuff and improvised all over the place.... That engine runs better than the one in the Grassroots RX. How? We will never know.... Turbone
I havent heard anyone talk about the valves and springs yet. If you upgrade the cams and have all this new OEM stuff in it, why wouldnt you put new springs/valves in also?
