dont be so hasty!

Recommended Posts

just reading old threads from the 'new age subaru' forum, and realizing that many (although not all, some are very knowledgeable) of these newbies dont know too much about cars, not to mention their own brand new subaru. not really basing this on recent posts, but does it seem to others that the older gen soob owners know tons more than the '95s and above? i read about some kid complaining that his year old OB was making a knocking noise before his car warmed up, and was willing to break open his engine and replace a bunch of things to make it go away. them youngins seem a bit hasty (btw, im 17...heh).

p.s.: what really does make that knocking noise?

"New" cars are still under warranty. Not that it would void the warranty if you worked on your new car, but it just makes sense to have them do it. When I owned my 95 Astro van I had free oil changes for life from my dealership. Cant beat that. But any unauthorized major changes to the car will void the warranty.

yeah defanately I am going to do the maint on my "new" car cause it costs less unless it's a major thing and it's under warranty (still waiting for the replacement CD player.......) and as for major mods from what I understand if you get the stuff that they sell at the dealership and have them install it then it's still under warranty :D
