ShawnW
Good try! Thats not terminal though and those Datsun trucks are practically extinct in the salt belt but in the "clean" states they seem to be all over.
carfreak85
Don't you see the hole in the bed infront of the rear wheel?:-p Oh well, it was worth a try!
the_bard
Rust? I suppose, if you consider a light coating of surface rot rust . There's actually a Datsun a few blocks south of me that has less rust on it than that. Just as beat up, though.
ezapar
The only rusty Soob I've ever owned came from NY and had lived in SLC before making it to Seattle where I became its 4th owner.
Craven
If you see that year Datsun king cab in Michigan, it's got a wooden flat bed on it. The boxes on thoughs things just evaporated, They looked like that one you took a pic of a year or two after they got off the boat. Craven
gravelRX
The truck is probably a transplant from the east coast. If it only has rust on the drivers side it was probably from a bigger city and was parked on the street. I've seen that a lot in Va. Jay

DrKrazy
Yea we have rust here in Colorado too, my truck is almost worse than that nissan. Hard to see with the wife's legacy in the way but I can put my fist through that hole in the bed. Oh well just my playtime & towing truck. Wasn't nearly that bad until they started using that Mag-Chloride "No Rust" stuff on the roads instead of gravel....yea right talk to me or any mechanic it defintely causes rust. Hondasucks
Yeah but that's a Datsun, those come with rust from the factory :-P Mine had so many holes in the floor, every time it rained you got your legs wet.
subeman90
Somebody get the vin off that thing.....I bet you could carfax it and find NY,NJ,PA,or CT in its past.... I see those trucks fairly often....they usually have wooden beds. :-p Matt

mcbrat
What you can't see below, is that there was a 'V' cut 2x6 wedged between the strut towers to keep them from collapsing in, and I tried to place some blocks under the frame rail below the drivers door, and the blocks just pushed through the floor. I had to use a long 2x6 on top of the blocks to hold it up while I parted it....
Mike W
I owned a "Washington native" 82 DL brat that was badly cancered. Rockers, floor pan and bed were like swiss cheese. And I almost bought a '82 GL wagon that looked sweet until I became curious about the fuzzy white corrosion on the waaay to clean engine. I started poking around and found that the whole car was bondo and the shock & strut towers just barely intack. Upon questioning the seller, it came out that the car was a Washington coast surf-mobile and spent most of it's life cruising the beaches. Some other chump eventually bought that POS. Sweet82
Rust? That's not rust... That's probably just a victim of some minor Atomic testing. (the only way to tell is look at it at night and see if it glows) I could pull a "Flintstone" to stop my old Subaru! Rust? You never lived in SALT LAKE CITY!
